Interior House Tour…downstairs

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about the inside of our house. You guys got to see plenty of the outside when we were building but I’m not sure I gave you a tour of the inside.

With that being said…

Welcome, let me show you around

Foyer- This area is a work in progress. I’m replacing this table with an industrial style table that Andy is going to build me, one day. I’m also on the hunt for an area rug for this space. Something that will brighten it up a bit.

From the foyer off to the left is my office. I will spare you the images with furniture, baby stuff and junk. Andy calls it our daycare. Since I work from home, Adler and I spend a lot of time in this room I’m also working on getting a new desk and rug for this space. In the original floor plan this was the formal dining room. We added french doors and a pocket door between this room and the  kitchen so we can close it off and call it a study/office. These images are a little dark but you get the idea.

Also from the foyer you enter into the living room/ kitchen space. We have an open floor plan which I love. This room gets ton’s of afternoon sunlight.

The open space over the couch is going to be our gallery wall. We are going to use crown molding for the shelving for the gallery wall. We need something that’s easy to remove since this wall is also set up to host the TV. I like to change-up the space quite often so the outlet/cable hook up was a must have on our list when we built.DSC_0013

Standing at the fire-place you look back into the kitchen area. This area also gets tons of light.  The stairs in our house are hidden, meaning they are not the focal point of the downstairs. The stairs are off the kitchen. That was the selling point of this floor plan to us. DSC_0018

The wall color throughout the house is Sherwin Williams Collonade Gray (7641) and the dining room/study is Sherwin Williams Distance (6243). Both are classic colors that will go with just about any decor style.

Check back soon for the upstairs tour. Maybe I will have some furniture in those rooms one day 🙂
